We are excited to introduce Byron's coffee in the first of a four-part series. Additionally, we are honoring an OG customer and friend Steve Dragon, co-founder of Blacksmith Italian.

The coffee's namesake "Yee-Haw! Kickoff to Summer" is a nod to how Steve and his friends started each summer season.

We've chosen an equally adventurous coffee for this occasion. This coffee is grown by Byron Arcila of Finca El Vergel. The double fermentation enhances the attributes of this coffee, which is why he named it "Baluarte," meaning stronghold, as it strengthens the notes of pineapple, honey, and strawberries.
Byron, a youth leader in Sonson, promotes education and a passion for coffee among young farmers. He guides them to implement new practices, improving processes and producing higher-quality, distinctive coffee. Byron and the youth in his community strive for a genuine transformation in Colombian fields.

For the next year, we will be dropping 4 hand-selected coffees each as uniquely beautiful at the stunning bags they come in.
