Arcenio Castillo started his farming career at the young age of 10 years old. When he was 18, his father gave him a small plot of coffee to call his own, which he cultivated for several years. His dream was to expand his little plot into something fantastical. Today, all his efforts starting at such a young age have produced amazing results and made his dream come true.
The dream? A farm named "Bella Vista" with a variety of processing methods including washed, natural, drying bed, and anaerobic. Together with his wife Rosa Lopez and their three children, the Castillo family works extremely hard to produce beautiful coffees for you to enjoy.
Why did we choose this coffee? Bella Vista took 15th place in the Guatemalan Cup of Excellence, which means it is among some of the best coffee coming out of Guatemala. But also, it checks all of our boxes. It is grown with a passion that was sprouted at such a young age - and you can taste the dedication that Arcenio has for his craft. We hope you love it as much as we do!
