Bryon Morrales

This Nicaraguan coffee is near and dear to our hearts at Treeline. Our founder, Natalie, made her first (intentional) sourcing trip to Finca los Pinos in 2013 when she started the company. Byron Corrales welcomed her into his home, as he eagerly showed her his growing techniques that he had learned from the four generations before him.
This year we are excited to bring you two coffees from Finca los Pinos, a natural (found here) and a washed (this one!). This washed coffee has rich chocolate notes with a nutty body and a sweeter, dried fruit note as it cools. There are pine and citrus notes, with a creamy melon finish.
Finca los Pinos is a fully organic operation, unitizing many products made on their own farm.
As a family, they work hard to convey the message that coffee production is an art that takes dedication and consideration of nature, their community and consumers. Coffee is part of their lives and has become the way they express their passion and craftsmanship to the world.
Additionally, Byron dedicates a large portion of his time to sharing his love and knowledge of organic coffee growing with other farmers so they too can produce a high quality and sustainable product.
Since that trip, we’ve remained in touch with the Corrales family and Natalie and Sara (Byron’s daughter) catch up each year at the Specialty Coffee Expo. Byron’s passion for coffee is evident in the finished product and we hope you can taste the hard work he has put into this year’s harvest.
Enjoy :)
